Transit should be fair, reliable and built around the people who use it. I support fair, distance-based fares so shorter trips cost less. I’ll push to bring independent transit experts to the table to improve routes and reliability, and improve real-time tracking so riders know when their bus is actually coming. I’ll also support creating lively spaces in and around LRT stations.

As Kitchissippi grows, our recreation space needs to grow with it. I’ll push for a modern recreation and wellness centre in the Tunney’s Pasture/Bayview area, giving children, families and seniors more opportunities to stay active and connected. I’ll also advocate for community and recreation space in new developments. As we add more neighbours, we need to add the services and spaces that make our community a great place to live.

Growth should strengthen our neighbourhoods, not overwhelm them. Kitchissippi needs new homes, but growth must be planned with the surrounding community in mind. I’ll work to protect trees and green spaces, plan for the impact of development on traffic and parking, and hold developers accountable for following the rules. Good growth means considering the long-term impact on the people and neighbourhoods around it.

Our streets should work for everyone. Whether you walk, bike, drive or take transit, you should be able to get around safely and reliably. I’ll push to repair potholes and sidewalks, improve road safety and address problem areas. I’ll also work to make paid parking fairer for residents and local businesses, with practical solutions that reduce pressure on neighbourhood streets.

We need better options than temporary motel rooms. I’ll push the City to buy existing homes for social housing, helping people move into more stable housing sooner while creating long-term public assets for taxpayers. Instead of spending millions on motel rooms, we should invest in homes the City owns. It’s a practical approach that can provide greater stability, dignity and better long-term value.

Residents deserve better services, not bigger bills. I’ll oppose new taxes and levies and push City Hall to cut waste, find efficiencies and spend smarter before asking residents to pay more. I’ll also fight to keep more of the revenue generated in Kitchissippi working in Kitchissippi, so our tax dollars are reflected in better roads, recreation, transit and neighbourhood services.

Everyone should feel safe and comfortable in their neighbourhood. I’ll support a community-focused approach to safety, including a dedicated Beat Cop / Community Officer model and Neighbourhood Watch initiatives like the one I’ve championed in my own community. I’ll also work with residents, police and community partners to address petty crime, discarded needles and other issues affecting our parks, streets and public spaces.

Accessible. Responsive. Accountable. If elected, I will be regularly available to residents through town halls, community meetings, newsletters, informal coffee chats, and a new Kitchissippi Presidents Council that brings together community leaders, service organizations, and community police officers to proactively address local issues. I want residents to know they can reach me, share their concerns, and receive timely responses. I believe the best decisions come from listening to the people who live, work, and raise their families here.

Being accessible shouldn’t stop after Election Day. I’ll stay connected with residents through town halls, newsletters, community meetings and coffee chats. I’ll also create a Kitchissippi Presidents Council, bringing community leaders, service organizations and community police together to tackle local issues. Residents should have a direct line to their councillor and know what’s happening at City Hall. 

Kitchissippi should be a place where good ideas can get off the ground. I’ll support new ideas that make our community better, from reducing red tape for neighbourhood events and park programming to exploring new technology like robot deliveries. I’ll also look for new ways to support local businesses and showcase Kitchissippi through community events, festivals and destinations.
